(Andy Warhol Films, 1965) Vintage original movie poster for the 1965 Andy Warhol film My Hustler, the first Warhol film to make a profit, but also one reviled at the time for its depictions of homosexuality.Window card poster advertises the film’s theatrical release in April 1966 at the Film-Makers’ Cinematheque, the venue founded by avant-garde filmmaker Jonas Mekas, who was served a summons to defend why the theater was showing Warhol’s film. Considered mild by modern standards, the film was exhibited throughout the late 1960s in New York, contributing to the gay rights movement at the time. Poster measures 14 x 22 in., printed by Murray Poster Printing Co. Inc. In exceptional, near fine condition showing vivid colors, ideal for display. $3,000 - $5,000

(Universal, 1965)Vintage original (1) collarless long sleeve maroon tunic embellished with brown leather trim with brass hoops and leather ties at neck and cuffs, retaining internal Western Costume bias label typed “Allan Jaffe”, and (1) green velour bycocket hat embellished with crème and green brocade, metallic gold piping, and clustered ornamentation featuring faux pearls, crystals and braiding, retaining internal Western Costume costumer’s ink stamp.
