Black (6) leather bound volumes of scripts.(ca. 1957-1964) Vintage original gorgeous collection of (6) walnut brown leather book bound scripts with gold gilt cover and spine details, labeled Volume 1 through Volume 6, containing an impressive gathering of Black’s work for nearly a decade, some titles including: The Unearthly (AKA “House of Monsters”), Lawman “The Son”, Hawaiian Eye “The Old Law”, The Untouchables “The Cordial Shops”, The Fugitive “Fire in the Mountains”, Music From Hollywood, and many more.Various drafts and page colors with handwritten notes throughout. A personal note from Black’s wife, Mary, states that her husband was working as such a furious pace after 1964, they decided to quit binding his scripts. In fine condition. $600 - $800
382. Writer John D.F. Black’s Edgar Allen Poe award from the Mystery Writers of America for “Best Television Feature or Miniseries Teleplay” for Thief. (ABC, 1971) Vintage original glazed plaster cast bust with blue and black accents, hand painted, “M.W.A. to John D.F. Black”, measuring approx. 9 x 4 x 3.5 in. with hole in base mounted atop wooden peg and base measuring 5.5 x 5.5 x 2 in. Accompanied by a 13 x 9 x 6 in. black raven constructed of Styrofoam, plastic and black feathers, a gift from Black’s wife, Mary, upon receiving the award, inscribed in black pen on the underside of base, “Quothe the raven... Love Mary”. Plaster bust exhibiting crazing to white glazed surfaces. In vintage very good to fine condition. $1,000 - $1,500
