67. Ray Bolger's tap shoes & signature top hat. (ca. 1930s-1940s)Vintage original (3) tap accessories including (1) Gélot of Paris for Saks Fifth Avenue brand black silk top hat with grosgrain ribbon trim, and (2) black suede lace-up tap shoes with La Ray metal tap plates and retaining internal handwritten, "Ray Bolger 39-5 500 580" in black ink. Most famous, of course, for his role as the "Scarecrow" in The Wizard of Oz, Bolger was also a famous Broadway song and dance man who earned one of the very first Tony awards in 1949 for "Where's Charley?". Exhibiting only minor wear and age, with some seam separation to inside lining of hat. In vintage very good to fine condition. $1,000 - $1,500
