(Larry Darmour Prod., 1933) Vintage original rare 22 x 28 in. half-sheet poster from the pre-code film featuring the image of the tragic "Nora Moran" (Zitas Johann) originally painted by Alberto Vargas who would go on to become world famous for his "Vargas Girls” series . Exhibiting extensive, but very masterful restoration and retouching. Some paper loss to fold intersections and deterioration left evident, but without detracting from the art. Now presents as good to very good. $600 - $800
86. Marlene Dietrich "Catherine The Great" personal shooting schedule for her controversial role in the pre-code film The Scarlet Empress. (Paramount, 1934)Vintage original printed 2-page "Shooting Schedule".The header also includes the name of director, Joseph von Sternberg and Dietrich’s character name or possibly the working title, "Catherine The Great".The 8 x 14 in. document offers an overview of production, indicating shoot dates for each scene and which actors are to be on set for each scene.A handwritten notation in the upper right,presumably Dietrich’s,reads,"Just For Fun" and a second notation appears in the left margin. Dietrich stars as "Catherine the Great" in the highly stylized drama, directed by von Sternberg, who launched Dietrich's epic career and crafted her provocative image. Exhibiting age, handling and some soiling. Retaining original central horizontal fold. In vintage very good condition. Provenance: From the estate of Marlene Dietrich. $400 - $600
