The Marvin Paige Estate, coming in Spring of 2016


Featuring thousands of treasures from the vast collection of legendary Casting Director, Hollywood Historian, and show-biz icon Marvin Paige (1927-2013). Paige’s early work included casting for Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Woody Allen comedies Take the Money and Run, Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex, and more. Paige cast the hit soap opera General Hospital, introducing actors Demi Moore, Tia Carrere, and Rick Springfield, as well as TV series Combat!, Lassie, Planet of the Apes, and Charlie’s Angels. For the better part of a century Marvin Paige was a fixture in the entertainment industry, providing celebrities for galas and events including the Academy Awards. Paige’s involvement in all things Hollywood lead him to establish the Motion Picture and Television Research Archive, containing thousands of entertainment-related items. Our auction will offer his life collection, including: vintage and contemporary 1st edition books, many signed by authors and subjects, vintage original posters, lobby cards, and thousands of photographs and negatives spanning the history of film, studios, celebrities and much, much more. Also included will be movie-related magazines, pressbooks, scripts and annual Academy Award materials.

The Marvin Paige Estate also includes a large number of autographed vintage photographs and ephemera signed by Robert Mitchum, Jane Russell, Irving Thalberg, C.B. DeMille, Margaret O’Brien, Douglas Fairbanks, books signed by Joan Crawford, Edith Head, Hedda Hopper, Roddy McDowall, Bette Davis, Barbara Stanwyck, Lauren Bacall, and others, hundreds of vintage posters and lobby cards, authentic studio shooting scripts for classics like All About Eve, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Easter Parade, Laura, Dial M for Murder, cast signed vintage General Hospital scripts, massive archive of vintage movie-related magazines including Photoplay, vintage studio publications, annuals, campaign books, clippings, and ephemera.
